I was born in Long An, a little town near Saigon in the south of Vietnam. Long An consisted mostly of rivers, rice paddies, little markets, straw houses with curtains for doors, abundance fruit trees and an ever-present horizon. There were only 2 seasons — rain and sun. Each year it rained daily for 6 months. My childhood was soaked with simple happiness. I spent most time playing in the rain, in mud, kneading clay into toys, taking care of pet fish, swimming in rivers, ponds, and wading knee-deep the never-ending rice pads while always wondering: what's at the end of that horizon; what would I find if I brave enough to get there?

There was no clock. No concept of racing with time. I only knew sun rise, sun down, and an oil-lamp to light up when night came.

I entered elementary school when I came to Ottawa, Canada. My ability in visual arts had the attention of art teachers throughout the years in high schools. They encouraged and nudged me towards opportunities for higher art training. In college I chose digital animation. And years later wore many hats working as 3d animator, graphic designer, effects compositor for local and overseas independent and experimental filmmakers. Over twenty years I've amassed knowledge of traditional art-making techniques as well as digital multimedia. Today I'm coming into my own as an individual artist. I'm inclined make use of my range of skills to explore and find innovation. Be the best to my ability, the only way for me to satisfy this creative call.

Living in Toronto, a contemporary city of lights so different from past town of rain. Growing up in polar opposite places had instilled in me a sense of duality, a trait so imbued in the art I make.
